Abstract:

AI can help optimize operations, strengthen patient privacy, and improve data quality while reducing risks of human error in clinical trials. However, AI must be used responsibly and governed by the highest ethical principles with regard for data privacy and reducing bias in algorithm performance. Delve into the transformative role of AI in clinical trials: current industry status, common misconceptions, proactively tackling bias and navigating the evolving regulatory landscape.

Todd Rudo, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer at Clario

Dr. Rudo provides medical and scientific leadership at Clario. He is passionate about leveraging scientific resources to support customer success with focused efforts on developing expertise across a range of therapeutic areas. His team provides expert consulting on scientific and regulatory strategy, and ensures Clario’s product portfolio is scientifically robust, generating high quality clinical trial endpoint data. Dr. Rudo is interested in applying innovative technologies to improve the scientific rigor of clinical trials while maintaining focus on patient and site burden. With nearly 20 years of clinical cardiology and pharmaceutical research experience, his main focus is on drug safety, working across therapeutic areas.

Lauren Misztal

Senior Vice President, General Counsel at Clario

Lauren is a business-oriented and solutions-driven legal advisor who draws on close to two decades of experience successfully resolving complex legal and regulatory issues. As Clario’s General Counsel, Lauren focuses on setting the Company’s global legal strategy and leads teams dedicated to supporting our commercial relationships, counselling on data privacy regulations, and mitigating risk. Prior to joining Clario, Lauren held senior legal and compliance roles at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and McKesson Corporation and was an associate and Of Counsel at Quinn Emanuel LLP. Lauren began her legal career as a trial attorney at the US Department of Justice after clerking for a federal judge in Washington, DC.

Gaurav Josan

Senior Vice President, R&D at Clario

Gaurav Josan leads the R&D team at Clario as Sr. Vice President focused on innovation and next generation technology solutions including AI capabilities. She has more than 2 decades of experience working in the Clinical Trials space leading strategic technology initiatives. She is passionate about accelerating Clinical trials with the power of AI.

Brian Dolan

Vice President Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Fortrea

Brian is a mathematician, inventor and cyberneticist with decades of experience building enterprise grade artificial intelligence products. Equally comfortable in product, sales and technology roles, he excels at translating complex business problems into tractable mathematical solutions. Brian leverages his CXO experience leading multiple companies from seed to growth stage, including Yahoo, Greenplum, and Deep6 AI and others. He regularly shares his industry knowledge, delivering keynote addresses at major events such as TEDx, High Performance Computing and Big Data Day LA. He holds a BS in Pure Mathematics from UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles), and an MA in Pure Mathematics and MA in Biomathematics, both conferred by UCLA.
