Dear Client,

The recent conflict between Israel and Iran has created uncertainty across the global landscape of which we collectively operate. We want to assure you that Clario is closely monitoring the situation and is prepared to take proactive steps to manage any potential impacts on our operations. While our primary commitment is to deliver consistent, high-quality service, geopolitical events of this nature can be impactful – particularly to supply chains, logistics, energy prices, and overall market stability.

Currently, Clario’s Crisis Management team is evaluating any direct or indirect implications for our business, working closely with partners to ensure continuity, and enhancing our contingency planning to address various scenarios. Specific areas of focus are:

Logistics

We are in regular contact with our logistics partners. Listed below is the current status of incoming and outbound shipments in the region:

  • Israel: Open with limitation
  • Iran: Closed
  • Lebanon: Closed
  • Kuwait: Open
  • Jordan: Open with limitation
  • Egypt: Open
  • Iraq: Open with limitation

The extent of the impact is being tracked by our logistics team, which continues to prepare shipments upon request. However, those shipments will only leave Clario facilities if a suitable carrier is available. Your Project Manager/Account Team will keep you fully informed of any change and this website will be updated accordingly. We encourage you to remain engaged directly with your Clario Project Team to understand the level of risk associated with your study.

Data transmission and trial management

It is expected that local data transmission services may be subject to disruption during the conflict. Clario does not rely upon any infrastructure or personnel within Israel, so our overall ability to receive and process data is not impacted. Across all our service lines, our Project Management teams will support you through operational strategies in the event of a temporary or permanent loss of connectivity. Additionally, our eCOA platform operates with offline capabilities, enabling data to be stored on devices until an internet connection is established, at which point it will be transmitted to our systems.

We have not to date observed any significant impact on data transmission within Israel. We encourage you to engage with your CRO partners and Clario Project Team for support as concerns the management of any sites and/or patients that may become affected.

Cybersecurity

Clario’s Cybersecurity program aligns to globally recognized security frameworks such as ISO 27001 & NIST CSF and is further bolstered through guidance from other organizations such as H-ISAC, and CISA. To date, our cyber program has been effective and no concerns relating to our services and infrastructure have materialized in connection with the ongoing regional situation.

Clario secures its products and infrastructure through a layered defense strategy that includes isolating clinical site systems from internal networks, conducting regular Security Impact Assessments, and implementing robust network, endpoint, identity, and data security practices. All internet-facing applications are monitored around the clock by Clario’s Security Operations Center, which leverages threat intelligence and a centralized Security Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM) platform to detect and respond to potential risks. The company stays informed of regional cyber threats, routinely scans for vulnerabilities, and employs a risk-based remediation program to efficiently prioritize and resolve exploitable issues.

Trial continuity

In the event that patient activity or site enrollment is impacted, we expect that sponsors will look to other countries to make up the required patient populations necessary for their protocol. Doing this through countries already active in the trial will be the most efficient solution. However, if you decide to expand your trial to a new country, Clario can support this through our current change management practices, and we ask that you communicate any potential strategies you are considering early on so that we can proactively advise on solutions.

Next steps

Our Crisis Management team is meeting regularly to monitor the situation. Clario will keep you informed should any material changes arise that affect our timelines, services, or delivery commitments.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to your Client Success Director or Project Manager with any concerns or questions. We greatly value your partnership and trust, especially during uncertain times.
