Industry-leading sustainability strategy earns Clario silver rating with EcoVadis

Clinical trial technology company outperforms all published competitor scores

PHILADELPHIA, PA – October 19, 2022 – Clario, a technology company that delivers the leading endpoint solutions for decentralized (DCT), hybrid and site-based clinical trials, today announced it received a silver sustainability rating from EcoVadis, a global business sustainability rating organization that assesses businesses across the global supply chain. Clario first began evaluating its sustainability performance with the external assessment platform in 2021 with a baseline score of 41, increasing its score to 66 in just one year.

“We are incredibly proud of the work we have done to improve our sustainability practices over the past year,” said Otis Johnson, Ph.D., Chief Diversity, Inclusion, and Sustainability Officer at Clario. “At a time with doing business should be synonymous with sustainable, ethical practices, it is an honor for our efforts to have this recognition of our work in these areas from such a prestigious organization as EcoVadis.”

EcoVadis assesses more than 100,000 companies worldwide. Clario tracks its sustainability progress against its competitors and now ranks in the top 90th percentile for the industry, outperforming all published competitor scores. It also outperformed industry competitors rated by EcoVadis in the four critical measures of sustainable procurement, ethics, labor and human rights and environment. Driving the significant year-on-year improvement were:

Sustainable Procurement:

• Created a global supplier diversity program and updated supplier sustainability code of conduct
• Trained buyers on social and environmental issues

Ethics:

• Implemented more robust whistleblower procedures
• Created a robust ESG reporting dashboard and transparently disclosed initiatives in inaugural ESG report

Labor and Human Rights:

• Trained employees on various labor and human rights topics from diversity, equity and inclusion to employee health and safety
• Implemented programs for vulnerable groups (ERGs, outreach, wellness)

Environment:

• Switched to 100% renewable energy in the Estenfeld office
• Improved data collection for GHG emissions (actual vs. spend data)
